We are excited to announce the appointment of Dave Taylor-Langdale as Managing Director of the UK office. This decision follows a strategic company-wide leadership restructure to prime the agency for growth and further our ongoing mission to transform healthcare communications worldwide.

Dave Taylor-Langdale joined Word Monster in August 2018 as a contractor, before joining us permanently as Editorial Director in September 2022. With over 10 years’ experience in medical communications, marketing, account direction, and heading up a digital team, he quickly became invaluable. His above and beyond attitude coupled with his expertise in strategic marketing saw Dave take the additional Marketing Director role in March 2023, where he helped the team drive commercial growth and redefine the agency’s core mission and strategic direction. In March 2024, Dave was recognised as a finalist in the Agency Champion category at the PM Society Awards.

Dave’s career spans a range of notable positions, including various roles at Swordfish Advertising, Strategy Internet Marketing, and as a successful independent freelance medical writer. He is also the author of the acclaimed Rare Disease Club book series.

Commenting on his appointment, Dave said, “I’m immensely proud to be given the opportunity to lead such a forward-thinking, pioneering communications agency. Our talented team produces work of the highest calibre. The landscape of medical communications is evolving, but with our new leadership team in place and our life-first philosophy to guide us, I am confident we can continue to deliver exceptional work that ultimately improves patient health.”

Carl Owen, Agency Founder and CEO, added, “Stepping back from day-to-day operations after eight years is a significant milestone that will enable me to focus on driving the business forward. Dave embodies everything Word Monster stands for. His impact on our culture, creativity, and commercial growth is indelible. As is his ability to motivate, inspire, and innovate. It’s propelled us to new heights to the benefit of our incredible health and pharma clients that we’re proud to serve every day.”

Dave will oversee our newly formed Senior Leadership Team, comprising of Saima Haider (Associated Editorial Director), Andy Hanlon (Account Director) and Alex Fairnie (Account Director). Together they will drive innovation, strategic growth and team care, while pursuing our commitment to excellence in medical communications.
